FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Interlining strike through can occur when the fusing parameters such as temperature, time, or pressure are not correctly adjusted. It may also happen when the shirt fabric is very transparent or has an open weave construction, allowing the adhesive to become visible on the fabric surface.

Our tip: Always carry out fusing tests before bulk production and adjust the fusing parameters as needed to achieve the best result.

  • Potential causes include bonding conditions, processing variables, or unsuitable fabric-interlining combinations.

  • Yes. Our specialists support manufacturers with interlining selection, bonding analysis, and process optimization.

  • Yes. Wendler's technical specialists support customers with:

    • Interlining selection
    • Fusing parameter optimization
    • Bonding analysis
    • Wash testing
    • Shrinkage evaluation
    • Production troubleshooting
  • Interlining can detach or form bubbles after washing if the bond between the fabric and interlining is not strong enough. This can happen when fused parts are handled while still hot or when the fusing process is not optimal.

    Common causes:

    • Fused parts are processed before cooling completely
    • Threads or fluff between fabric and interlining
    • Damaged coating dots
    • Incorrect fusing parameters
    • Low bonding strength
    • Improper fusing on the conveyor belt

Our tip: Let fused parts cool completely before further processing and test fusing parameters before bulk production to ensure a strong, durable bond.

    • Incorrect fusing parameters
    • Contamination between layers
    • Insufficient cooling time
    • Unsuitable interlining selection

Our tip: Allow fused components to cool completely before further processing. Selecting the right interlining and fusing parameters from the start helps prevent washing-related failures.

  • The moiré effect can appear when the weave of a shirt fabric interacts with the construction of the interlining. This creates visible wavy or shadow-like patterns on the fabric surface.

Our Tip: To help prevent the moiré effect:

    • Cut the interlining slightly on the diagonal, not in the warp direction.
    • Choose an interlining with a different construction or weave.

These simple adjustments can reduce pattern interference and improve the final appearance of the garment.

  • A collar can collapse if the collar band interlining is too light and thus not stable enough to hold the weight of the top collar with its basic and patch interlinings. An incorrect collar pattern can also cause instability.

Our tip: Contact us for support. We will help you find the right interlining combination for a stable, well-shaped collar.
