Our tip: The ideal interlining depends on the fabric, garment application, processing requirements, and desired performance characteristics.
-
Yes. Wendler's KW and RS Lines provide flexibility, recovery, and stretch compatibility for knitwear, sportswear, activewear, and other stretch garments.
Our tip: Select interlinings that support the fabric while maintaining comfort, flexibility, and freedom of movement. We recommend validating stretch performance under actual production conditions.
-
The ideal shirt interlining depends on the fabric, collar construction, desired appearance, and processing requirements. Popular solutions include Wendler's DV, 3000, 3600, DUETT, 7000, and HF Lines.
Our tip: Collar, collar band, and cuff constructions should be selected as a balanced system to achieve the desired appearance, comfort, and performance. Our specialists can help identify the best combination for your fabric and manufacturing process.
-
Yes. A few basic guidelines can help ensure a stable and well-shaped collar.
General rules:
- The collar skin should not be lighter than the collar patch.
- The collar band should be strong enough to support the top collar.
- Business shirts are typically made with a collar patch.
- The cuff interlining can often be the same as the collar skin.
- Collar skin, collar patch, and cuffs are usually cut in the warp direction.
- The collar band can be cut in the warp or bias direction.
- For formal shirts, heavy interlinings can also be cut on the bias.
Our tip: Use the same interlining for the collar skin and collar band for a balanced result.
Additional tip: Spot-weld the collar skin and collar patch before fusing. This helps keep both layers securely aligned during processing.
-
A collar can collapse if the collar band interlining is too light and thus not stable enough to hold the weight of the top collar with its basic and patch interlinings. An incorrect collar pattern can also cause instability.
Our tip: Contact us for support. We will help you find the right interlining combination for a stable, well-shaped collar.
